Lucien Hervé, relato fotográfico de Ronchamp
Lucien Hervé explora las cualidades expresivas de la obra de Le Corbusier. La cámara de Hervé se detiene poco a mostrar la totalidad de la capilla. Lucien Hervé (Lásló Elkan) nació en Hungría en 1910. Estudiante de Bella Artes y autodidacta de la fotografía, se trasladó a Paris a principios de 1930 para trabajar como fotógrafo de modas. En 1939 fue reclutado como fotógrafo militar y poco tiempo después capturado por las tropas nazis y enviado a prisión.
En 1949 conoció al padre Couturier quien le recomendó ir a Marsella para experimentar la Unité d’Habitation que estaba a punto de concluir. En un solo día, tomó 650 fotografías desde variados puntos de vista para retratar las experiencias visuales que resultan de caminar la obra.
Hervé remitio una selección de sus imágenes a Le Corbusier, quien agraciado respondió: «Usted tiene el alma de un arquitecto y sabe cómo mirar a la arquitectura». Desde ese momento, fue el fotógrafo que eligió Le Corbusier para el registro fotográfico de su obra.
